@marcan I've got an ESP Box running https://github.com/toverainc/willow . It's really early days, but works pretty well for me for what I'm doing. It is currently only "send a sentence to Home Assistant"(/other services) levels of functionality though, but I've been able to set up some custom sentences in HA to do things like activate scenes

@turmoni @marcan sorry for butting in, but I've been curious ever since I saw Willow - how well does it currently do with activating it from a distance or with a bit of background noise?

@projectgus ah fancy seeing you here - I think it works better than the Google Assistant does for me, with the caveat that the voice recognition is generic and so it doesn't cope well with spoken word on in the background. The actions are definitely a lot faster, what with being entirely local, so that might also be biasing me

(I will look at those micropython changes at some point when I'm not overly tired!)

@turmoni Thanks, that's quite encouraging! I've stayed away from voice assistants so far, but looking at Willow I'm a bit tempted...

And no problem on the MP stuff! Thanks again for all your contributions so far.
