There are rumors that the alleged discovery of a room-temperature superconducting material is being replicated by other labs. If that's true it's a huge breakthrough - a lot of skepticism is justified right now, but this is looking less and less like cold fusion or the EM drive and more like something that could be scientifically viable. @jayreding We have two replications and two failed replications, that I've seen. Most interestingly, we have a simulation from Lawrence Berkeley Labs that say it should be a SC but tricky to produce...which would explain why people are having a hard time replicating it. Keeping my eye on this!
