But Calgary Folk Fest was amazing. So many brilliant, hard working musicians, volunteers, behind the scenes crew members making the magic happen.
Anyone else do Folk Fest? Which set was your favourite? Which artists made you cry or feel big feelings?
On this, I want to bring your attention to a little coffee house in Tuxedo: Congress Coffee.
This place is the coolest. Go there when it's quiet and peruse the photography exhibit on the wall. Go there when the beats are bold and so's the coffee. Go there when the sun's shining and sit outside under the fairy lights. Go there when it's raining and hide in the cozy space, grab a book from the book fridge.

I am not paid to say this nor am I affiliated with Congress Coffee anymore than just a happy customer who wants to see this place thrive.
There aren't many neat little places like this outside of the city centre so I think it's important to get the word out about them. Please boost and spread the word about Congress Coffee! A place to enjoy tunes outside the booze scene. Yay!
@laurel also... They have a daily sandwich recommendation by side-eye Jesus. I have yet to try one cause I'm always there when I don't feel like having a sandwich but one of these days

9 months is awesome. 💜 Addiction recovery sure seems like a rough journey. I've not done it myself but been with friends who have. There do seem to be similarities between the two (from what I can tell, anyway!).
I just went down to Congress on Sunday and thought of you! I really hope you find the place as inviting and cozy as I have.

If you ever want a coffee with a stranger, seriously, I love meeting up with new people and I'm not far from there. I'm going to start going to more of their events, too. Cause where else in the city can you go to shows at a coffee house?? I think I might give them all my money. 😂

I don't know how long they've been open for but I've only just discovered them. I was desperate for a good coffee that's not as far away as The Roasterie and found Congress on Google maps!

It really IS challenging to find good spots away from the core. Congress Coffee's going to get my entire life's savings so they can stay alive. 😆 Everything else around here is Tim's and Starbucks. Not that there's anything wrong with Tim's or Starbucks but I sure do love the charm and soul of independent coffee houses.
