Meet Alice, she’s a beautiful three legged #cat who doesn’t let her injury change her enjoyment of life.

She’s incredibly social and strangely enough very polite! She manages to jump onto tall cabinets with ease despite only jumping off her back leg!

An absolute sweetheart of a cat!

@lewiis Aww, I am so happy to meet Alice! What a beautiful happy kitty. Sprocket is also a three legged kitty who doesn’t have his left back leg. He doesn’t jump up onto cupboards or counters, but he does jump down from heights and he climbs up very well. He lost use of his left back leg when he was about a month old, I don’t know if that has an effect on what jumps come more naturally to him. Or maybe missing most of his tail changed his balance so he doesn’t jump/spring up?

@littlemiao Sprocket! what a cool name!

That is a really interesting thought actually. I've just had a think and given Alice had been able to traverse cabinets in the past she may have worked to regain the mobility she once had! A little of a "I have before so I will again" mentality.

Whereas Sprocket didn't have that previous experience, which might have impacted his jumpability! He might surprise you one day and start launching around like a rocket!

@lewiis When he was more of a kitten, he would spring and launch on other kitties like a little rocket. We call that kind of ambush sprocketting!

It makes sense that if Alice was able to leap and jump up in the past then those muscles must still have that ability. It is amazing how adaptable they are. And Sprocket finds ways to get wherever he wants to go. We also have steps up to beds and the couch.

@littlemiao Aw that would have been adorable to watch!

I love that, we really do build our lives around our pets!

@lewiis They are so worth it 💗💗
