It feels a little silly to say so, but every moment that I practice banjo and get better at it I feel more confident about the future, because at least I know there will be music. I understand the purpose behind gathering other types of supplies and skills, but I'm much happier when I think about how, at the very least, I can contribute to making sure there's music no matter what. I feel that way about bread as well, but I don't know how I'd manage if I couldn't get flour. I've already got the banjo though, so I'm set on that front.
@claude_cahun I definitely get you there. Unfortunately for me, main instrument these days is the synthesizer, so if shit really hits the fan, I'm screwed.

@claude_cahun I believe in a post-industrial society there would be live music every night. I don't wish for it, but it's certainly a consolation.
