Sentient Car@mcc Ghibli's Miyazaki is an ex-Marxist (and still seems to be a socialist), the main writer (Sakurai) on GitS: SAC has a degree in Marxist economics, Eiichiro Oda (One Piece creator) has a Che Guevara poster in his room, and Hideo Kojima is also likely a socialist given the revolution-supporting dialogue he's added to his games (you might've also seen the funny picture of him wearing a soviet hat)
