I’ve had the good fortune to visit the Cheewaht Cedar in Ditidaht territory on Vancouver Island. If this one a hundred kilometres north on Flores Island is properly protected along with its surrounding ecosystem, and all other old growth, I hope to visit it. An ancient wonder. A monument to the permanence of life.

@chris I feel like most of the people who advocate for cutting down old growth forests have never truly stood in one, spent any time among trees and forests that predate humanity as we know it.
