So I fell for a scam text and now my #DebitCard has been compromised. I called the bamk and had them cancel it, but they said it would take 5–7 working days to issue me a new one.
Fortunately, I can apparently still withdraw #cash from the bank, and my schedule gives me Friday off so I can go in while it's open.
This is to say that it would be a pretty bad idea to abolish cash altogether. Sometimes you don't have a card.
@Infrapink 100%. Both cash and card have their uses. I'm more of a card person these days, so because I then always carry a card, I keep cards backed up on my phone for phone-tap payments. Plus Revolut etc.
I found card replacements usually arrive quite quickly, so hopefully you'll get sorted within a few days!
@conor I'm similar. I used to prefer cash, but opted for cards during COVID and didn't break out of the habit.
Fingers crossed this will be sorted soon.
