If people are coming up with extremely lightweight mice maybe I should go that route and run the lightest actuation possible switches and make it out of a light but sturdy material. Carbon fiber would be the obvious bet but it's probably a tad expensive to make an entire box out of it
and, of course, foot pedals.

I was comparing to the current rat (pun not intended) race going on in mice, where companies are constantly making progressively lighter mice from stuff like magnesium and carbon fiber. I just think I should bring that spirit to a leverless controller and optimize it to see how much further I could optimize it in terms of materials, dimensions, switches, layout, etc.
