@HiroRwar I mean, I had that problem for a while? It's contextual. I was saying it so often that it started feeling disingenuous, like it was just a thing I was saying robotically that didn't have any emotional support backing it. It didn't occur to me at the time to consider what switching to not or rarely saying it would mean to other people. It's entirely a "your brain is sabotaging you" situation of worry and insecurity.

@HiroRwar I used to think that, but kinda changed my tune over time. Love is not exclusive to one person.

@HiroRwar Growing up my mom would say it to everyone and I fell into the trap of thinking that way. I said those words to my dad for the first time a few years ago and his reaction left such an impression on me I try to say it more often when I talk with people close to me.

@HiroRwar That's why I always back every "I love you" up with either a hug or cuddle them against me. I don't just say, I show~

@HiroRwar I had a student who used to tell me and other people, “I love you” randomly, for no reason. She wasn’t sucking up, she wasn’t even my student the first time she said it. She just wanted people to know she loved them. I watched her make people’s days over and over.

@HiroRwar if beaches were strewn with gemstones would they be as precious?

@HiroRwar Its certainly gonna be cheapened if enough people say it without actually meaning it.

@HiroRwar I was going to make a joke about equipping your I Love You rifle with a bump stock, but that might cross over into lust artillery. :-)
