@socialismforall welp, I wouldn't be surprised. Seriously though, can you imagine the shockwaves first contact would bring? Gods would seem petty and childish. Our wars and fighting would seem irrelevant. Humanity could have the potential to finally evolve and truly learn from history and prevent anything like that from happening again. If it is completely made up, it would be the most evil shit they could possibly do to people genuinely interested in astronomy. That's America for ya.
