Last night after we played Gloomhaven I spent more time staring at the map we made and figuring out all the things we had access to.

I hope the video game version gives you a list of what’s available and what options you can go towards.
Doing it manually isn’t the worst thing in the world. I’d probably even enjoy it as a free time thing.

But as a work thing I’d have liked it to be smoother.

(Don’t worry I already found a lot of help guides online for flow charts and such. I got this.)

@LunarJade I do love games that require things like flowcharts.
@LunarJade I'm looking forward to it being in switch form because it just looks exhausting to keep track of after awhile!
@LunarJade I wasn't the one handling this, but I think the friend who was running our tech when we played remote in 2020 (webcam on board, cards in each individual player's house, they moved all the pieces) made a Visio flowchart, yeah. I think there's also a website someone made where you enter in what you've finished + what achievements you have, and it tells you what missions are open.

@LunarJade Oh, neat.

Sharing mostly for my own purposes but this looks cool:

Gloomhaven storyline

This Gloomhaven Storyline Tracker enables you to register what scenarios are finished and read the story for each new unlocked scenario!

@iris_of_ether yep that’s one of the ones I’ve been using. It’s quite good for helping keep track of where you are.

@LunarJade Nice!

Yeah, we enjoyed Gloomhaven when we played (2 years weekly/biweekly-ish), but boy is it really fiddly with some stuff.

@iris_of_ether have you seen the Bugs and Buttons Gloomhaven thing? I think it’s in preorder or Kickstarter or something now but I do think that one looks pretty interesting.
Probably still fiddly but it’s a smaller adventure and I think it looks pretty neat.

@LunarJade I did! It looks super cute - I always dig the "now you are tiny" themed things.

I think 1-2 of the friends from my group have purchased it. I only didn't because I'm trying to stick to a budget. It's likely I'll still get to paint theirs, though. 😁

@iris_of_ether @LunarJade hello i am one of the friends who got it

i am excited it is super cute

@sevenishmagpies @LunarJade Definitely let me know if it has obstacles in the set, and if they're like tiny tables made of spools of thread or whatever.

I just got a strong desire to make like Rescue Ranger scale furniture terrain.

@LunarJade I was hoping during the pandini that you'd restart Gloomhaven through the digital version. None of the games that took The Long Game slot during that time were ones that held my interest. But you cannot rewrite history.
@LunarJade as someone who jumped in with the video game I can confirm it’s excellent at letting you know your options

@LunarJade Ah yes, the game of "find the locations with empty boxes" and then having to cross reference that with the book to find out what scenario's you can even do (let alone how you got to that adventure).

Clearly the devs also understood that hassle, because in Frosthaven they included these advent calendar kinda charts that make keeping track a lot simpler.

@LunarJade These sheets (there are 5 total) have made things so much easier, especially given how the different colors are different storylines, meaning I kinda remember what happened where.

(Don't worry, I threw a few dud censors in there to not give anything away even with absence ;) )
