In a rare price hike, AWS will be charging for IPv4 addresses. The change brings them in line with other cloud providers and encourages good internet hygiene.

@major @Quinnypig wow!!! finally. They have been charging for unused ones for a while... I wish there was more residential IPv6 support :|

@major I just lost $3.50/month, but hey, #legacyIP. The next logical step is to make sure all AWS resources now get #IPv6 by default.

@major @Quinnypig Never thought about "losing" IP space acquired in the secondary market due to poor IP planning... But if you "bought" ALLOCATED PA (or the non-RIPE equivalent), I guess it makes sense.
