Happy sysadmin day! - Lemmy.world

May the uptime be long and the logs without errors (and not just because logging is broken!)

Yay! Congrats everybody for the great work! šŸŽ‰

I 🫔 my fellow Sadmins, you all do amazing work

šŸ––

I was just cosplaying but I'm flattered you thought I was a real sysadmin (also logging is always broken)
Congrats for the hard working guys!
I’m Sysadmin for my family for approximately 5 years now.

We’re all sysads here!

You were born, and so you’re free… so, happy birthday. - Laurie Anderson.

Me, posting this from my own Lemmy instance: whoa, I’m a sysadmin!
You can’t have errors if you don’t have logs šŸ¤—

MY FIRST SYSADMIN DAY

I’m still a teen but have been running servers for friends and family for just under a year now, mid-september will be my first full year.

I posted this on instagram a while ago and some friends proceeded to give me some cards :D

Today’s chore is to finish adding comics support to my server for the GF. (komga nginx issues atm, help wanted…)

I never got komga working right. Ubooquity has worked great for me for years tho, standalone and docker versions. vaemendis.net/ubooquity/

Sweet will try. May I ask what you used to make your collection? Mylar and things are very hot and miss.
Oh God if you find something that isn’t a hot mess let me know. I’ve been organizing manually for over 10 years. I’ve tried all the major tools, comic Vine subscriptions, etc. In the end I gave up and just do it by hand every few months and cry 😭 I have over 20,000 files.
Could just make a lemmy for sharing mylar collections via torrent/ddl internet dbzer0 that way all the comics are already organized and have plenty of meta-info
On MaM and nzbGeek they post a weekly comic dump from the 0-day scene. Simplay make an rss feed and have it download to a folder that mylar monitors. MaM’s pattern: ā€œ0-Day Week of 2023.00.00ā€
Check out Kavita! It sounds perfect for what you’re doing and I have had literally 0 issues using all of their built-in features. It’s a surprisingly stable and full-fledged open-source product.
