Congress is About to Pass a Very Bad Internet Bill. Here's How You Can Stop It.

The misleadingly named Kids Online Safety Act will censor the internet, not protect kids.

@parkermolloy Thank you for the writeup! Excellent journalism as always. Signal boosting. :)

@parkermolloy

I contacted my reps through the @eff form linked in your article. Though as I mentioned to them, I wish the prefix drop-down menus for my representatives included a gender-neutral option like "Mx". (I'm #agender and prefer not to use any titles.)

Attached: 2 images @[email protected] I contacted my reps through this form, but wasn't happy that the prefix fields didn't offer a gender-neutral title like "Mx". I was forced to choose something in order to submit so I reluctantly chose "Mr." ETA: I understand the menu choices are likely auto-populating from each rep's website, as the options were different for each of my reps. Sen. Feinstein didn't have a prefix menu at all though. So maybe better to have a fill-in-the-blank option? #KOSA

@funcrunch I noticed that everyone I contacted had their own form. Some required titles, some didn’t, and some had gender neutral, but, well, I guess it makes it harder to do long term automation if they’re all different and keep changing. 🤔

@helianthropy

I should have finished grad school so I could get Ph.D. and call myself "Dr." 😛

@parkermolloy I wrote my Senators and Representative, not sure what else I can do.
@parkermolloy Uruguay looking promising. Billionaires want to turn the United States into a fascist country.
@parkermolloy thank you for all your work. This one slipped by me even though Blumenthal is my rep.
@parkermolloy When I wrote my red-state senators I pointed out that blue-state attorneys general could use the “dangers of guns to kids” as an excuse to ban the NRA website. Since they both get money from the NRA hopefully it will get them to consider the repercussions.
