Seeing people being nasty about Mitch McConnell's medical issues, or even just boosting, gives me a good idea of who to unfollow.

I deeply disagree with the man, and I'm all about schadenfreude as it relates to policy initiatives and legislation, but schadenfreude with respect to medical issues?

Thanks, but I don't want you in my timeline.

@Jason when I see things like this I always wonder how many lives, if we could try and quantify it that this man has made worse due to his policies?
The countless families that have struggled or made more unsafe from a single man's actions.
I wonder about that sometimes.
That's the kind of stuff that gets me.

@ProIsh Does the fact that he has taken bad actions that have harmed others mean that we should rejoice in his suffering?

I would rejoice in him being stopped from bad actions. I don't rejoice in his suffering.

@Jason I see your side.
What I guess I'm saying is that when someone expresses happiness due to, in their eyes, someone who's spent their entire life creating roadblocks and holding the most vulnerable down getting a slim bit of comeuppance I can see their side as well.
From my side I get sadder over the countless people he's hurt through his very, very long career and continue to hurt for, probably. years to come.
There's a small group of people where the bad actions never stop until they die.

@ProIsh I can see the side of folks who have been harmed by his actions inasmuch as the wish to thwart his efforts and roll back the harms.

Rejoicing in his suffering his another thing entirely.

@Jason Sure, I agree. I just have learned as I get older and sit atop my throne of privilege, I judge less is all.
Or maybe I'm just getting more cynical in my old age.

@ProIsh It's not like I don't understand the temptation to revel in the suffering of one's enemies.

I just don't want it in my timeline.
