Official thread for #42 of the Value 4 Value podcast.

Podcasting is getting a much needed update! In Ep#42 we're looking at the ecosystem of Podcasting 2.0 and how it is providing innovation of new tags and features that have been needed for decades

I also gave @podverse a highlight in my app section. What I have just used for the first time is the Soundbite tag (with a name attached to it as well). This is in my feed and surfaces beautifully in Podverse. So cool!

@Meremortals @podverse If you get into IRC, isobot can generate timestamps too. We generally pull a couple from the isobot to put into the feed during post production.
You could also build a playlist of user-generated soundbites and publish them into your own RSS feed. Not that anything supports it yet :). But cross-app clips are possible today and supported on Podping with list mediums.

Long live the Iso Index! There is a quasi index but no associated rss feed yet.

It would be cool to have some webtool that instead of building playlists, you could make sound boards from all the isos. And naturally have a small sat payment sent to the feed of origin every time you hit the button.

@boobury @agates @podverse Ooooh thanks guys. I'll look into this as part of my investigations. I'm with Blubrry and don't have direct access to my feed but this is handy to know more about anyway.
@Meremortals @agates @podverse If you create a handhacked feed like with what @SirSpencer and I do, you can add any new features at a moment's notice. Like the value time splits as an example.
@boobury @agates @podverse @SirSpencer Yeah I'm starting to think about doing something like this. I just asked Buzzsprout and they don't have any plans to support Live in the near future so I might ask you guys for some pointers in the near future 😃
@Meremortals @agates @podverse @SirSpencer I'd argue you could do it at any point hosting company or no hosting company. Create a subdomain, copy paste and make a new feed from the old. Then just get a feed swap going in the index and the apps will look to the self hosted feed on your domain.
@boobury @agates @podverse @SirSpencer Oh yeah that's probably what I would do, and not bother to selfhost or anything like that. Just gotta find the time, it'll happen for sure though. Going live is really fun
