Meta: why are posts being deleted? - Infosec.Pub

There was a post earlier about the UAP senate hearings that happened today. Now the post is gone. Why?

I don’t know about that post specifically but Lemmy keeps a modlog for mod/admin actions if you want to look. If it was removed it should be there with the reason. It’s linked in the community sidebar. Or here for this community: lemmy.world/modlog/2840

You can check the modlog to see the reason a post is removed (no search bar yet so you’ll have to scroll through it). If it’s not on there, then either the user deleted it, or as Osayidan said your instance may have accidentally dropped it.

Thank you for that link.

Yes the post is on the mod log. The deletion note says something about no link to the news source. But it clearly had a link.

Who knows.

Annoying since the post was gaining traction and votes. Posts about the hearings tend to be deleted due to the stigma of the topic.

Im suspect of the deletion here for the same reason.

Only posts that has been deleted the last view days were:

Whistleblower says U.S. recovered ‘non-human’ biological material | UFO Hearing Due to not linking to a article.

Adopt eight lifestyle changes to add 20 years to your life, researchers say Due to not being a current world event and a clickbait title.

This are the last 4 days of posts that were deleted. I think the person who made the post deleted it himself. We are very carefull with deleting posts. Every voice should be heared, but to a certain extend of course. Deleting a post or comment is the last resort.

Check the mod log.

The only recent removed post from this community related to the UAP hearings was an hour ago and the modlog shows exactly what it was removed: because it failed to provide a direct link to a verifiable news article.

Don’t worry about it
Probably because it’s US internal news. This place is for non US news
