That is so bleak… An entire huge pod beached together. I wonder what could lead to such intelligent animals beaching themselves like that. It sounds like scientists are unsure of what caused them to become beached. Just “maybe illness or stress” but that’s pretty vague…

I would not be so quick to anthropomorphize the behavior of animals.
Why is suicide anthropomorphic?
Lemmings are known to migrate when the population in their area becomes too large for its food supply. Aren’t often Freighters and Cruise ships often the reason for ths because it confuses their navigation (and terrifies them)?
