Here’s an annoyance I have: in Google Sheets, I have a sheet which I use daily via desktop browser. At some point I loaded my sheet from the same account on a second device (either my phone or iPad in the official app) and I guess I selected a column and then left. The highlighted column syncs between devices, so I can see the highlight on desktop. But that session is long since closed, and the highlight is stuck on desktop, so one of my columns is now just permanently highlighted in green. I’ve tried loading and then exiting the sheet from various apps, various devices, even in the mobile browser, to try to close the session with the column selected. Each time I see a new “viewer” in the sheet which correctly leaves when I disconnect the session, but still the selection remains.
Is there a way I can forcibly close the session which is causing the highlighted column? I’m seriously considering copying the entire sheet’s content into a completely new document. The problem there is I don’t think I can easily copy the comments.
Thanks for the suggestion. I’m not going to do a global sign out on all devices as that’s a bit nuclear to solve a minor cosmetic issue. I have, however, signed out on my phone and iPad which is where I think the selection came from. No joy with the sign outs.
Seems like it’s just a permanent stain on my sheet forever.
