There is no honor in making others struggle solely because you did. Persevering through difficulty is worth celebrating, but is often worth even more if you can lessen the burden for those who come after you, especially those less fortunate, less privileged. That way lies glory.
@coachgowron i can't find the reddit post anymore but there was a story by one redditor about a class trip where they were one of the last people on a hike and noticed a branch on the path and moved it out of the way. The councilor or something then said something along the lines of "all of them went out of their way to go around. It only took one to make the path easier for everyone who comes after"
