apparently I'm at an age where if l don't understand some pop culture reference my kids will laugh at me but if I DO know what something means they mock me even harder
@ElleGray The advantage is you can torment them endlessly by leaning into it. I lose count of the number of times my teen informed me that I have lost speaking privileges after I deployed some GenZ slang....
@pooserville oh yes. I've tasted the power already. Right now when they make me guess any song's singer I say "Kanye West?" For some reason it's driving them crazy
@ElleGray
Simple solution: Donโ€™t have kids.
@ElleGray Yeah, but one time I teased my son in front of his friends, and one of his buddies howled "Oooh, you just got roasted by an ELDER" and that was pretty awesome.
@danciruli roasted by an elder should be the name of something cool lol
@ElleGray They'll get their time. When they cry about getting old you can laugh at them.
@ElleGray the things I *do* get, I overuse until they beg me to stop.
@ElleGray Have you tried telling really awful Dad Jokes?
@Bodling as punishment? Lol. Not yet
@ElleGray i don't know what to say. Maybe you can sell them, or give them away. Joke.
@ElleGray That just means you have to show dominance by mocking them even more mercilessly about things they're too young to understand.
@tstrike78 no, thunderstrike, no. We're the adults. We have to rise above it *sigh*
@ElleGray I'm sorry, but Doctor Who taught me something veeeeeery different. ๐Ÿ˜‚
