@squiz defcon.social is a pretty slow instance, which isn't bad per se but yeah.

something I found out that was helpful: you can add /public/local to an instance's base name to see just that instance's local timeline (if they allow that.) For example @jerry 's instance, which is quite large and busy, you can see with

https://infosec.exchange/public/local

so If you're here for security or tech specifically, trying that out on infosec.exchange, hachyderm.io, fosstodon.org, techhub.social etc and see what's showing up
