"Perhaps my half-Wookie-but-balding uncle needs an email account at the family domain, but I know for a fact that he answers every hair restoration spam and he doesn’t understand the difference between Netflix and his cell phone. His email should not be tied to a Unix account or, indeed, any system access whatsoever." - #ryoms

You can sponsor this atrocity at https://www.tiltedwindmillpress.com/product-category/sponsor/ and help keep me off the streets. I'd be a menace out there.

@mwl This reminds me of one feature I don’t know how to implement in selfhosting: can I prevent myself from being able to read users’ email? Is this possible while still allowing me to operate the server (upgrades, backups, perf tuning)?

@josephholsten

No, you can't.

Next question?

@mwl No others. Just wasn’t sure if magical secure enclaves and encrypted file systems had accomplished what seemed impossible fifteen years ago.

I know we should be able a do end-to-end encrypted file storage if someone implements a SpiderOak server. But it doesn’t have to receive messages over SMTP…

Looking forward to the finished product!
