As twitter continues its further decline, I'm still trying to figure out what my relationship is going to be with social media. I suspect I'll be following a lot less folks. It's not an indication of disliking someone. It's about just trying to curate the experience I want to have.

Gonna say this though. All y'all who want to be full gremlin mode and show hole on main? All the power to you, but you're probably gonna get unfollowed or muted. I want you to do your shit like you want to, but that's why I split that type of thing out for AD accounts.

Risqué? Go for it.

In fact, that's one thing I like about Mastodon over Bluesky, with the readily available CWs. I can choose to see things if I want to, and am given a preview of what's up, rather than getting hit with an onslaught of niche fetish content (which, again, shoot your shot/live your bliss) that I may not be feeling.
Parting thought.
@theome yeah I think with the collapse of twitter its going to be healthy for me to not use social media as much as I did on twitter. Although the only feature I'll miss is being able to have a locked account for a variety of reasons.

@theome I understand why people /feel/ compelled to follow as many folks as possible. (Dat reciprocity tho)

But what good is it if half of them are permanently muted? That to me is a much bigger insult than not following at all.

“I actively acknowledge your existence and tacitly devalue it.” 😅

@theome the funny thing about the collapse of Twitter is that I am actually more social than I have been in years. I am still retweeting/boosting a lot but I feel more comfortable with posting and interacting than ever before.
