So #Florida and #DeSantis teach that #slaves got the personal benefit of skills that supposedly helped them after slavery was abolished, which they wouldn't have needed if they hadn't been kidnapped and brought here to work for others, the slaveholders, who fought a war to prevent said freedom and did everything later to negate that freedom, also negating any "personal benefit."

These skills btw did not include reading, because the master didn't need THAT.

Interesting they use Booker T Washington as an example of one who benefited from these "skills." (Slavery ended while he was still a small child) Leaving aside the larger issue that racists often love him because he was an accomodationist, what made him famous was writing UP FROM #SLAVERY.
Funny thing: #slaveowners did not teach #slaves to read.
Or write.
Certainly not to write books. So what "skills" do they mean here was he taught by being born a slave?
