This is probably the wrong place to ask this (given the particular subset of Mastodon users who will see it), but does anybody know what (if anything) happens if the GOP nominates Trump and then he actually gets prison time? Is there a mechanism for removing him from the ballot and replacing him, or does the GOP have to just roll with having a convicted felon staring down a jail sentence on the ballot?
Similar to mechanisms in place to replace a candidate if they die before the election, I mean? Not saying the GOP wouldn’t just go with it anyway - they very well might - but curious to know what if any mechanisms are there.
