MillieHonestly, I have hope that this is how the world gets better. All these companies who’ve been making a mess of everything on reputations they’ve long outlived have gotten too comfortable and too bold. A few Ubisofts and Twitters will be good practice for the bigger ones.
Maybe we’ll even figure out that money only tells us where we go if we let it.
Ubisoft is allegedly closing accounts that are inactive for a period of time, regardless if they have purchases on them or not.
I’m not sure if this is a recent change or if Ubi has come out with an official statement. This is just what I’ve seen going around today
It’s been like this for years. I’m pretty sure I’ve gotten the inactive email back around 2014 and I just log back in.
It’s a dumb policy from them and Origin, but it’s nothing new. Far from it.

Legal == lawful. It’s possible to get away with things that are unlwaful, because they require civil lawsuits to prove and resolve, while things that are illegal are criminally charged automatically (at least in theory).

If you buy it legally the publisher might decide one day to take it away from you and you have absolutely no rights to stop them because you don’t own shit.
If you pirate the game then it’s yours to keep for as long as you want. Plus you get the added benefit of none of the draconian DRM that serves no purpose other than to punish people that buy the games legitimately.
Just to clarify that I only support pirating games when they have been removed from store fronts and there is no possible way to support the developer even if you wanted to.
If you bought it once you should be legally allowed to pirate it. That is just common sense.

I am almost certain they are not actually doing this and it’s just some ploy to get people to login to their long dormant accounts. I haven’t logged into my account in around a decade, but I just did today and all the games I bought are still there (a whopping 2).
I logged in for two reasons:
I didn’t even know if I had an account
If I have one do I have games on there
Turns out I have an account and one game on there
