Whilst Europe is setting records in fossil-fueled climate disaster evacuations and heat levels,
Greta Thunberg was sentenced today to a fine of 1500 crowns plus being ordered to pay 1000 crowns to the "Fund for Victims of Crime" for "disobeying police order" (literal direct translation, "not-hearing-ness against the order-power" :-D) while on June 19 alongside other habitat heroes blockading the fossil-fuels harbor in Malmö, southernmost Sweden.

Greta agreed to having blockaded and stated that it should not be considered a crime, referencing the law for defense of self or others, telling the court that "I believe that we are in an emergency situation within the definition of the law. There is a crisis that threatens lives, health and property. Our life-sustaining systems are collapsing", which is all very obvious but the courts can not accept such facts.
The one non-amateur of the judges in the District Court declared that "The circumstances regarding the climate crisis are not included in the Penal Code's 'emergency'".
That judge asked if Greta had any questions, Greta replied "Many questions. But none suitable here".

P.S.: Greta said nothing to the police during interrogations except "no comments".
It even said in the cop protocol that when asked if Greta would reply "no comment" to the prosecutor in court too, the reply was "no comment".

It was only in court today that Greta declared not guilty and gave the correct defense of others (Swedish "emergency defense") justification.

Comments from Greta just after being sentenced today
─────
Greta: As similar cases have gotten similar results, so therefore this was expected. We will continue, as long as the situation is as it is. Ehm, the situation is only getting worse and we will NOT back down at resistance.

Reporter: This sentencing and this, like, outcome of this case, do you think that will affect the climate activism?

Greta: No, there are many other activists that have gotten similar sentencing too. Ehm, but I think that the trend THAT more and more face such as this, may definitely influence people in general, that one sees that... What is going on? Why don't we have laws that protect people? Why don't we have laws that protect the planet? Why is it us sitting and acting in accordance with science and stop fossil activities that have to face legal consequences, when the fossil industry which continues devastating people's possibility for secure and dignified lives, when they get to rampage freely and kill both the planet and us?".
I think people will more and more see how absurd that is and therefore want to act themselves too.

Reporter: How... what is your first comment after the sentencing?

Greta: Ehmmm... I have many comments. Ehmm. But that... the sentence was expected, uhh, of course.
I knew what I was doing, when I did, when I did the act as to speak.
Ehm, even though I deem it justified, ehm, considering, yeah, the character of danger, the minor damage which was inflicted on another and other circumstances. [My note: That's fragments from the defense of self/others legislation]
Ehm, but it says a lot that it us young that have to stand against the fossil industry first and then we have to stand against the system of laws and we seem to be rather alone.

Reporter: You told the judge when he asked "do you have any questions?" you said "I have many questions, but those are not suitable here", what were those questions you had in mind?

Greta: *big sigh* Everything possible. Ehm. What I spoke on previously, but also that one admits that the climate emergency exists and that we must do something about it... and then one always have excuses for why one can't do anything about it.

Reporter: Will you appeal?

Greta: No.

Reporter: Will you do something similar again even though you know you will probably be penalized again?

Greta: I hope that the climate emergency :-D won't require that, but as it look right now, it seems to be like that. That it will get worse and that there will be a need for more and mre resistance and and action from our side.

Guess what Greta did after being sentenced today for blockading the "Oil Port" of Malmö in June?

Yep, that's right. Went to blockade the same "Oil Port" of Malmö this afternoon, just a couple of hours later, alongside ~15 other habitat heroes.

When Public Service TV asked why Greta was there again so soon after being sentenced, Greta replied that,
"The climate emergency doesn't care about that, I am not deterred by it".

I endorse these "crimes".

@b9AcE This is the most awesome young lady I've ever heard of. If I could be half as brave as her I'd be a much better person.
@KeybladeSpirit Maybe someone else thinks the same of you and you just don't know it?
