UI never displayed the 2FA pairing code nor recovery codes, now I'm locked out - Lemmy.world

Hi, I tried enabling 2FA on my (first) account, but despite the UI saying it will display the code below, it didn’t. I turned it off and saved the changes, but I guess that didn’t work because now it won’t let me in. I tried password reset and it does send me an email, but it won’t let me in still without 2FA. Is there any way for me to get back my first account or is it lost forever?

I had a similar issue when the servers were slow a few weeks back. Send an email to [email protected] and they’ll sort you out.

Yeah, they ran a Mastodon server before setting up a Lemmy server also. I’d email them from the email you created your user with and explain the situation.
