Feels like we are at a crucial juncture in the evolution of the internet. Big tech has evolved into a parasitic business model focused on user profiling and targeted influence. As such, it aligns with reactionary forces that want to use these tools for political ends. The free flow of information and the ability to organize online are anathema to both because it can't be monetized or manipulated. And yet, a drop of truth can outweigh an ocean of lies. They are afraid of us, and with good reason.

"A drop of truth can outweigh an ocean of lies."

Like a drop of iodine sterilizing the muddy water skimmed from the top of a pond.

Or a dash of salt in a pot of superheated water causing it to explode.

Or a candy dropped in a soda bottle.

Or a truth meme going viral.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely

100% agree. how much better it is to make occasional donations (according to one's ability) to a fediverse instance! rather than be tied to some corporate surveillance jail.
