How do the demographics of Lemmy differ from those of Reddit? - Lemmy.world

I’ve noticed that technology discussion is more commonplace on Lemmy than I remember from Reddit. In what other ways might our demographics be different than Reddit and from other sites?

I’ve noticed lemmy seems to be far more left leaning than reddit
like to the point of being pro communism for some reason

It doesn’t help that the devs unironically refer to themselves as tankies.

I mean, it’s not a huge deal because, y’know, it’s a federated service - but you could probably partially attribute the early population’s leanings to that.

You’re on Lemmy.ml rn lol
Which is marketed primarily as the default lemmy instance
