Oh for goodness sake! If we're going to have a workable compromise, all the parties have to come to the table. What is Labour hoping to achieve by rejecting this proposal out of hand?

All #Michaeli is doing is keeping the opposition fragmented, and making Labour even less relevant.

I've considered voting for Labour but that increasingly seems like a wasted vote. 🤔

Labor’s Michaeli rejects Histadrut proposal: ‘No compromising on democracy’

* * *

@paul it's pretty simple: we don't negotiate with terrorists. The proposal is simple: stop now.

There is no compromise when one side is pursuing corruption and self-enrichment. You stand your ground and resist if you have an ounce of patriotism.

@idan and in the meantime our society fractures. The coalition will press ahead if there is no willingness for some sort of compromise. As it is, they are extreme enough that they can't even see the harm they are doing.
@paul “Societal fracture” is such a distant second consideration at this point. Society was fractured when these corrupt politicians created this problem by trying to legitimize their corruption.
@idan I agree that the coalition is at fault here. At the same time they are fanatical enough to just start pushing legislation through using their majority, using the opposition's apparent refusal to negotiate as some sort of justification.
