Let’s go. Super exited about this race.
Same, the return of danny ric… let’s go motorracing!

Hyped! Looking out for

  • If and how long Lewis can hold P1
  • Both McClaren and Alfa Romeo keeping in the points at the end
  • Perez battles and climbing up
  • Ferrari strategy not working
  • DANNY RICCCCC

I’m just stoked there’s two Aussies on the F1 grid, and they’re both good, and, if the stars align, they both get points.

Also the possibility of a bit of Hammy v Max battling again, even just a bit.

Same here. It’s shaping up to be a good one.

Inb4 max is 3s clear at the end of lap 1

Inb4 max is 3s clear at the end of lap 1

With Lando and Lewis retiring after a collision.

Mate… please… it would have cost you literally nothing to not have written that comment
Hoping for big things from McLaren, Lando has great race pace the other top runners only have one car at the front so pit stop strategy should be in their hands
He’s in a really good position to get a run on Max at the start. Hopefully he can get ahead and keep Max behind a bit longer than Silverstone!
Excited to see what the Alfa Romeos can do. The victory will easily go to Max though I think.

Let’s see how aggressive he and Lewis get on lap 1

You have to think that Lewis has nothing to gain by settling for 2nd, and Max wouldn’t let his own kid win a backyard race, so he’s not conceding anything

That’s a possibility indeed that something would happen at the start. But in a clean race,
I can’t see Lewis or anyone else matching Max’s pace.
Does anyone think the Alfas will be able to maintain their quality pace in the race? Or will they be like Haas and drop back over time?
My understanding is that their race pace looked quite good in the practices.
This is sweet, decent upgrade from Damian Lewis
Have AT changed their side mirrors? They look so different than every other car
Shaping up to be a good one, let's hope it's a banger
It’s a bit odd seeing all these medium compounds at the front. I think the new tire allocation will result in a lot more strategies
RIP Zhou, what a bummer
What happened to the Alpines?
disaster for Alfa
Peak Ferrari, not swapping the cars.
I was so confused. It didn’t make any sense to keep Sainz behind Leclerc at that moment. It was their obligatory fuckup, I think

I feel like the grid is the wrong way around here and pole should have been on the inside.

Or Max is just that damn good.

I feel like the grid is the wrong way around here and pole should have been on the inside

Yup. Regardless of who one supports, it is a bad design IMHO.

I feel like I remember Bottas talking about purposely trying to qualify 2nd here in 2021
I think the reason is because the outside is the normal racing line, so the inside is typically dirty
Before the race started, every driver/pundit said the inside is usually quite dirty and it statistically puts you at a distinct disadvantage down to turn one. This year’s race start runs contrary to previous years where the pole sitter has comfortably held the lead.
wow Alpine having a rough month
What a start by Piastri! He’s so impressive for a rookie.
Let’s hope he’ll start getting some recognition soon, I can’t believe how few people are hyping him!
I agree, I think more people will notice now that he’s got a competitive car. He hasn’t been that far off Lando all season
And Lando is considered by many to be one of the best on the grid, only a hair behind the elites like Lewis/Max. Super impressive for a damn rookie!
Dude Alpine is so unlucky
Not a great start for danny, causing a double dnf
I thought it was Yuki
I don’t think that’s a fair characterization. He was boxed in on at least three sides (not sure about his right). Nowhere to go, then Zhou lost downforce and hit from behind.
And Gasly had a fantastic start too, that was such bad luck.
They just said his seat broke in half when his car landed. That must have been a pretty painful incident too.
That was Esteban iirc
Lol 5s for causing 2 DNF +sending Ric down to last. WTF
Penalties are absolutely random.
Might as well just send it into the midfield, gain 10 places and take the 5s

I reckon that’s fair. Probably as bad as going of the track 3 times

/s

They really need to change the approach, they should consider the outcome of the driver’s actions.
Yeah ridiculous that taking 2 drivers out is as bad as running wide 3 times
They’re always pretty lenient on incidents at race starts.
Yeah it makes sense but I think the track limit thing needs to change. I think Norris has 2 Track limit infringements right now… Maybe I’m just a bit traumatized by Austria tbh
Yea I was sure he would get 10s at the very least but the 5s is almost worth it
Really cannot fathom how/why Sainz is still behind Leclerc
Can Lewis get past the McLarens?
It would take a safety car I think
McLaren confirming their good upgrades then
