@eled_nil And they're still doing it now.
@BonehouseWasps Yes, it's sadly true, but I believe we will reach a turning point. It's inevitable; the situation is becoming unmanageable.
@eled_nil I hope so but it's hard to imagine right now.
@eled_nil Thanks this helps a lot, knowing that the heat wave is due to crimes we're all involved in, everyone profited from, immediately makes it more bearable.
@kolya In fact, it's quite the opposite. It's a denunciation against large corporations and the fact that it's something avoidable but desired by someone who is causing harm should make it intolerable
@eled_nil
If you ever tried to uphold an ethical standard in a large company, you probably noticed the company pushing back very quickly, because this isn't what a company is designed to do. It's designed to maximize profit. Not by any single person, not even by the CEO or shareholders. It's the role we as a society give to companies.
Nature wasn't destroyed because of some dark elite of evil rich persons. That's just a scapegoat. It was destroyed because we needed it to be and we didn't care.
@kolya I agree but you know, the world is on fire. I think that is a matter of time for people to care
@eled_nil + they're still doing it....😭
@Christine_Broesenhuber 💔 they are totally insane
@eled_nil they are, + the world is paying the price
@eled_nil And got politicians to spend billions of OUR money towards destroying our own homes.
@ned This is the most grotesque thing of all. Politicians are supposed to be those elected by the people to look after their interests, but instead, they have become petty tyrants

@eled_nil

Many have become corporate shills and push the corporate lobby propaganda to ATTACK government (a role they are supposed to fill), claiming that when government takes money from the corporations to spend on the public, they are "evil".

Government is supposed to keep corporations in check to protect the public, as both workers and consumers. That's why we have them, and why society deemed them necessary. Of course the monopolies want to be rid of them or better, just take them over.

@eled_nil kind of like watching uncles and aunts suffer cigarette-induced cancers, emphysema, copd. Profit now, shrug ‘whaa?’ later.
@cascheranno Exactly, except that now everything is going up in smoke on the planet :/
