When those of us who work on CO₂ removal (CDR) meet, it’s apparent that no one wants to do this and no one thinks it’s easy.

It’s far easier and cheaper to stop emitting CO₂.

The fact that some of the smartest people I know decide to work on CDR signals our desperation.

@davidho I totally agree, would you rather stop producing plastic water bottles or invent ways to remove them from the oceans?

Moreover, removal tech triggers ugly capitalist ideas like corporations paying who's removing on their behalf. Exactly like that idiocy of planting trees to balance carbon emissions.

I mean, planting trees is always great, just don't link it to CO2 production.
