After spending all week installing Lemmy and trying to make it happy, I was losing my mind. I’ve finally got everything but pics working. I plan on troubleshooting it this weekend.
I’m being sarcastic, kind of. I wasn’t sure if I was going to stay a Lemmy fan amidst the painful set up - even with Docker compose and following all of the instructions, I was struggling to self-host it.
I am still a Lemmy fan and I understand you I should do less complaining and more contributing, so I am going to write up my experience getting it running once I get the pictrs stuff working.
This lemmy.world/post/1978767 was just posted a couple hours ago. It doesn’t seem to cover what you’re having trouble with, but it might be a good place to put what you’ve learned if they’re open to contributions.

Meow, meow, Few days ago I started working on a simple Wiki where I want to ‘collect’ all documentation on setting up Fediverse services and everything around it in one place. Still adding new stuff on a daily basis. Hopefully it will be helpful to someone
