I haven't been on Facebook in something over a decade and received an email today saying that there was a request to reset my Facebook password. How are they supposed to know that you want to delete your account? Like I get what you’re saying and I agree to a point, but without the password what’s the way they prevent any random person from emailing and having accounts deleted?

I'm willing to answer security questions or give them a code they send me through a text or email. I understand the need for identity verification but there are less invasive ways to do that.
