Google recently announced they’re backing the new RFC 9420 standard - no clue what that means for the future of RCS or if this standard will go anywhere but optimistically this can be the one everyone gets behind? 🤷

That's not a messaging standard, it's just a specific security protocol. Doesn't really have much to directly do with RCS.
