Canada Child Benefit increased, accounts for higher cost of living - Lemmy.ca

> According to the federal government, this year it’s seeing a 6.3-per cent increase, meaning families can receive up to $7,437 per child under the age of six, and up to $6,275 per child aged six through 17.

Is that in tax returns or just straight up payment?
I think it’s a straight up payment. I think it’s scaled for household income though.
Based on income would make more sense.
Canada has a direct payment system for child allowances that’s issued monthly.
The American plague is coming for them. I hope it doesn’t and they don’t adopt our shitty habits of fucking our citizens hard.
