If a lot of stuff coming from the right or from conspiracy or paranoia sources (of any orientation) sounds a little nuts, that's partly because a huge proportion of it is just made up for lulz by online trolls who've found that many people are very gullible. QAnon started as a troll, and many things associated with it are, too.
