Man, I miss playing Magic more often. :-(

More specifically, I miss FNM draft. Drafting at a table with people who know what they're doing and are friendly about it is priceless.

Also it's been a year since I told a table how to zone draft and augh I miss being an acting judge too.

That being said, ABZD

YES THIS IS FOR YOU

@kilnfiendpotter its just good table etiquette, it prevents a lot of problems and should be taught to new players as standard. (does this count as a hot mtg take?)
@odd_megan I don't think it should be a hot take! I agree that it just makes sense.
@kilnfiendpotter i miss it too, well.... i miss it when it went well. When arena introduced drafting i remember how nice it was to draft without worrying about being misgendered or casual sexism etc. drafting is great, but fnm tables have had... mixed results for me :(

@odd_megan I'm so sorry you had to endure that. My LGS in San Francisco (Gamescape) is such a rare gem, in that they don't stand for any of that shit.

I was in a pod with a teenage boy, when he called a card "gay" in a derogatory way. The ENTIRE table (including me) stopped the draft, put down our packs, and firmly told him that wasn't okay.

It's still my favorite LGS in the world, and the only one in SF I would recommend to marginalized folks.

@kilnfiendpotter a good lgs is priceless, its way more than a retailer. its like a sorta cultural incubator.
@kilnfiendpotter I still fnm draft every week and it’s super nice. My store is quite chill and casual but I enjoy being among like… non online magic players lol
@kilnfiendpotter If you miss telling people how to zone draft, could you tell us (mastodon) or me specifically? Because I don’t know what that is. At least I think I don’t. Maybe I know it by some different name?
@kilnfiendpotter our local draft leader/zone enforcer just had his work schedule change and can’t make fnm any more! We are drafting mh2 this week and are not too far from Boston if you wanted to come by
