I've got the house to myself tonight, so I'm queueing up the records. Streams (1973) by Sam Rivers is an easy top ten for me. #jazznoisehere @jazz #jazz #freejazz #freejazzvinyl #jazzvinyl #vinyl
@Cabshaka nice! Sam Rivers needs to be discussed more in my opinion!
@cprompt He just misses the glory period of the New Thing. Everything he does seems to go under the radar. Consistently one of the best artists in free jazz. Love his flute playing.
@Cabshaka for people that have never heard him, I usually go to Fuchsia Swing Song. Great album
@cprompt depends on their taste. Any bop fan should be able to get Fuchsia. It's a great record. I tend to go for Streams if it's a free jazz fan.
@Cabshaka I am not familiar with Streams but will for sure check it out!
@cprompt Its different to the Blue Notes. At this point he was doing freely improvised (but not non-idiomatic) long pieces on tenor, soprano, flute and piano. I think this record is one of my favourites of his.
