JumpCloud, an IT firm serving 200,000 orgs, says it was hacked by nation-state - Lemmy.world

“Extremely targeted” attack involved a data injection into JumpCloud’s commands framework.

Maybe in a couple of years it will be on the Darknet Diaries podcast.
AHHH! NATION STATE!!!
Is “nation state” an attempt to deflect from lax security?
If my boss asks why I haven't installed the jumpcloud agent yet I'll send him this article

Yeah. “Nation state”, “Sophisticated”, “command injection”… where have I heard this before?

Ahh, that’s right - with every breach where they had basic vulnerabilities exposed, or admin credentials compromised.

It says they only went after specific orgs. Im going to assume thats where the nation state allegation came from.
