Tiki Bunny is proud to announce our latest import! The ask was simple: A 4WD Subaru Sambar, 95 or newer with no rust. The idea was to do something crazy like paint it in Subaru racing livery when it arrived in the US.

Welp. How about we just find one done just like that already?

@tikibunnyimports I can't afford one at the moment, but I really need a supercharged Sambar in my life.
@cinaed666 I can reliably get them here for under 6k, as long as you don't mind a few dents to work out!

@tikibunnyimports

I don't mind a shitbox, but I'm not on your continent. :)
I have imported a car from japan before myself before though, so I can manage, thanks!

@cinaed666 If you're on another continent, chances are the process will be far easier and cheaper XD The US makes it wildly difficult.
@tikibunnyimports It's not easy in the EU either. We can import cars before they are 25 years old, but the tax is high and homologating them is a pain.
Once they are 30 years old, the tax is basically nothing, and they don't need to be homologated as they can be registered as a classic car without all the needed paperwork, so for these cars it's pretty easy. (At least in my country, it differs.)
@cinaed666 I know the real pain comes from importing over borders. That is the one part of the Japan -> US pipeline that's a delight. Makes it easier to import EUDM cars over here via Japan, ironically.
