Long COVID presents ‘unfathomable’ burden as health-care system reaches ‘boiling point’

A study provides a clearer picture of long COVID, stating even asymptomatic COVID-19 can cause permanent organ damage and micro blood clots. And nearly 400 million people have it.

@morgfair I had the "long COVID" shortly after it arrived in the U.S. In 2020. The incapacitating symptoms lasted five months, with a distorted sense of smell and loss of balance for over a year. There was no available vaccine or treatments at that time and here, in NYC, we heard ambulance sirens every several minutes. I made my peace with death then but fortunately survived. I strongly recommend that people treat it seriously and get their recommended vaccinations.
@morgfair thank you for boosting this information. I spent 14 months in bed and have been fully disabled for 18 months now. It’s been the biggest nightmare of my life. I recently turned a corner and I can only hope it keeps going because if not I will lose everything I have worked for my whole life.
