Assassin's Creed haptic feedback shirt will let players feel every punch, stab, and fall - Lemmy.world

he partnership lets players experience the world as the game’s protagonist, Basim

I need to be stabbed by the OWO suit
This game really makes you feel like you’re being stabbed with a knife.
I was gaming earlier and thinking to myself, if only I could be experiencing getting stabbed right now that would really enhance this

Little Jimmy-Jimmy??

Got him

The realism’s off the charts! It’s horrible! I’ve already preordered!
Wow this is so cool! No idea it existed!
OwO

notices your haptic feedback shirt OWO what's this

There's no way on earth that a haptic feedback shirt made by a company called OWO wasn't intended to be marketed at furries in VRchat lmao

How disappointing, they made this interesting new tech and all they can think to use it for is punching and stabbing 😑

How about a tickling game or something fun?

Or reverse twister where you have to stretch to touch yourself in different spots?

Who tf wants to get punched and stabbed??

I’m sure those enterprising game devs on steam will publish a whole bunch of hentai games that works with the suit as soon as the suit released.
'Sensation Vests' Could Make VR Porn a Lot More Real

A new 'haptic vest' aimed at virtual reality gamers got us thinking about the future of interactive sex experiences, and how haptics will make them more real.

SEXTECHGUIDE
A vest that could actually tickle would be cool 😆.
Not the upcoming vr game though.
Wonder what the price tag on this ?
499$
That’s… actually not as expensive as I was expecting.
Probably a laser printed flexible silicone sheet with low-bond adhesive for clean removal.
Correction: *Assassin’s Creed haptic feedback shirt will let players OwO.

Reminds me of this thing I bought years ago

On a scale of 1-to-Sad, how disappointed with this product were you?
Will this fit comfortably over moobs?
Far more than comfortably my friend
The first LAN I ever went to was around 2009. BFG graphics card were still a thing and I think the 780 was king. I had purchased maybe Battlefield 2 to play there. One if the vendors had a suit that did this for their game back then. This is the first time if seen anything like it since then. I’m thinking that most people don’t want to spend money on something like this based on my experiences.
Inclined to agree. It seems more like a gimmick than quality of life. Only a select portion of the market would spend any money at all for the privilege of feeling someone punch and stab them, and unlike elemental powers, it's available for free without looking like a dweeb.
It’s effective you’ll get better at defense.

We all know where this tech is going.

Only a matter of time until we finally get that PH haptic feedback we’ve always wanted.

Marilyn Monroe-Bot incoming next
There’s a few different tech solutions coming out and already out for this type of thing in the VR community. The most popular one I know of is the bHaptics Tactsuit.
The shirt probably won’t sell many units, but just wait until they release the pants.
If you’re into spending money to have the feeling of getting punched or stabbed; why not try just getting into a fight? Would likely save money, and it would be super realistic.
Street Fighter 6 World Tour is everywhere, if you're brave enough.
Everyday we get a little closer to Ready Player One

I’ve tried a haptic vest back in the late aughts. Tested it with CS:S if I recall correctly. It was fun until the point blank shotgun blast. Worth a try for sure, but I personally wouldn’t use it more than once.

Out of all the haptic options, this is definitely one of the more gimmicky ones.

Assassin’s Creed with stakes. When you die on highest difficulty setting you die irl.
Miss haystack, get broken ribs.
Doesn’t tell a cost or a release date for the tech
If you have to ask you can’t afford it.
Yeah, but when will I not be able to buy it?
Yoooo I want this!! I haven’t been keeping up with the AC series though…
They’re pretty massive now. Opinions seem quite mixed on the latest (Valhalla), I didn’t enjoy it much or even complete it. Origins / Odyssey were imo excellent though and definitely worth a look, considering you can prob grab a key fairly cheap for those two.
I was talking to my friend who got headphones with haptic feedback. He told me it was the most annoying thing in the world and turned it off.
Jesus Christ. Were those the Skullcandy crushers?
Ill accept the buttpunchers seat haptics, or haptics on the table, but on the head? Very terrible idea.
Friendly reminder that Ubisoft horribly exploits their workforce. Fuck’em
