Finally, the customization features of the Fediverse allow for a more streamlined experience, and the privacy and censorship features are unmatched. I was not bombarded with advertisements, and there was less competition for my attention when compared to my experiences on Facebook, TikTok, or Instagram. However, it will get some getting used to since the people I frequently converse with are off this social network. The character limit of 500 is disappointing, hence my segmented posts.
@Kwil the lack of advertising really stands out to me. I definitely agree about the issue of who is/isn’t present, but I see that as an emerging issue of this era of social media. It’s become quite fractured and no one can reasonably be everywhere.
