Today is my late mother's birthday -She passed away in May. I wanted to re-share the article I wrote in May remembering her. My Mom was a feisty Sicilian woman all through her 93 years! Like all who have lost loved ones, healing takes time. Sending my love and support to others who also lost a loved one this year. https://deanobeidallah.substack.com/p/the-passing-of-my-beloved-mother
The Passing of My Beloved mother

β€œWe are born to die,” was a frequent expression my Mother shared with my sister, Dawn, and I growing up. On some level that was her way of helping us understand the circle of life. But despite intellectually grasping that concept, the loss of a loved one still hurts.

The Dean's Report by Dean Obeidallah
@DeanObeidallah ❀️ Lodi is such a NJ town. Sorry for your loss brother.
@DeanObeidallah Loved your post about your mother. My feisty 97 year old mother just died and she was still strong about Public Education and the Democratic Party.

@DeanObeidallah Thanks for sharing. I, too, lost my mother in May. My mom was feisty and funny and loving, and the last of her generation in our family. I feel so lucky to have many, many happy memories that help fill the void left by her absence.

Remember and be grateful for the years you had with your mom/dad and healing will begin. It helps to be kind to yourself; do things that make you happy. My heart goes out to all whose parents are gone. I wish you strength, hope, and peace.

@DeanObeidallah my 48 yr old sonπŸ’” great friend, son and father.
