Republicans and Republican voters,

“Stop giving money to Ukraine, we should be taking care of our own.”

Later that week

“No we are not voting for that Bill that helps Americans, that’s socialism and communism.”

@SpockResists the "our own" there is doing all the lifting: it's their own like "of our own Republican pockets and no one else's".
@SpockResists We get the same in France.
"We don't need to help migrants, what about our homeless people ?"
"No, let's not sign this bill to help homeless people"
@SpockResists They also don't seem to be trying to shrink the massive military budget. Which you'd expect them to want to do if they wish to focus on domestic concerns rather than being involved in international conflicts.
@SpockResists They don't operate on principles. The objective of their leaders is power. Their strategy is demagoguery. Their tactic is to say whatever they think will rouse the emotions of their rabble in the current moment, and to do that continuously to maintain a constant state of outrage, fear, and loathing. Their biggest mouthpiece for that tactic is Fox, which has poisoned a quarter of our population.
@SpockResists Well, they are asking for a pay raise!! Next, they’ll be wanting another $1T tax cut, that’s the main thing that Republicans are for!!!
